When I was a child I went to Sunday school and church and believed everything the pastor and Sunday school teachers said was true. As I matured in my faith I sought the truth through reading my Bible. When I was married I taught my own children who were growing up in the same church the very same things I learned. Am I a conservative Christian because I am choosing to follow the same path and hold onto the same traditions of my family? Or am I a conservative Christian because I haven’t had a reason to step out of my comfort zone and make up my own mind? The real question is when does a conservative Christian change their mind?In the early nineteen hundreds woman fought for equal rights with men.

The church taught that men were supreme and women were to be subordinate because the Bible stated that a woman was to be under a man’s authority. They were not allowed to be ministers. They were not allowed to vote and they were given less pay for the same jobs that men did. They looked to the conservative church people to stop the discrimination against women, but the church held fast to the Bible’s words and turned a blind eye to how woman were suffering when the men had complete control. So women took to the streets and held rallies to get society to change their opinion. Thus equal rights for women were established because the government listened to what they were going through and realized that their position had to change in order to prevent the cruel abuse of women. The conservative church followed only after many years.

During the nineteen sixties Martin Lutheran King walked the streets of Alabama and many other states demanding equal rights for black people. He was a minister from a segregated colored church. Colors were not given equal pay for the same jobs white people did. They were forced to eat separately from their white counterparts. They were humiliated and forced to give up their seats in buses to white people. They were not allowed to worship with the conservative Christian churches because the Bible plainly stated that it’s OK to treat people differently when they are descendants of slaves. It took Martin Lutheran King’s death and men of all races standing up against the injustices that the government listened and changed. Equal rights for African Americans were granted and only after many years did the church change their position concerning what the Bible said about some people being lesser human beings than others.

I wrote the book “I Want to Know My Future” believing that the conservative Christian church needs to be aware of how their teachings are persecuting homosexual families. I personally was deserted by my family, friends and church. I was jailed, injured and denied justice in the courts. My children were taken away from me and sole custody was given to their dad even though it was proven I was the better parent. All of this happened to me because conservative Christians refused to believe that God made homosexuals too. They are supposed to be examples of love and acceptance of people who are different instead they participated in persecuting me by teaching their conservative church members that it’s OK to hate and call homosexuals sinners.

Paul was a missionary to the Gentiles, but the first Jewish Christians believed that Jesus came to save Jews only. Paul had to meet with the apostles and elders to explain what was happening and how the gift of the Holy Spirit was being given to the Gentiles too. The leaders of the church listened to what Paul said and celebrated the news of Gentiles coming to God. But there was controversy because they were a newly established church and they needed to bring order to their newly founded Christian belief. Many wanted the Gentiles to obey the laws of Moses. But after many hours of debate they realized that this was not possible even for them. They concluded that faith in Jesus demanded that people be accepted by grace alone and God’s call. Galatians 3: 25-29, “Now that the time for faith is here, the Law is no longer in charge of us.It is through faith that all of you are God’s sons in union with Christ Jesus.

You were baptized into union with Christ, and now you are clothed, so to speak, with the life of Christ himself. (Holy Spirit) So there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles, between slaves and free men, between men and women; you are all one in union with Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are the descendants of Abraham and will receive what God has promised.” Why does the conservative Christian church believe they can continue to hold onto the Laws of Moses? Paul wrote that there is no difference between people. Why do they continue to hold onto rules that affect the freedom of good people like homosexuals? Do they not trust that God is able to teach people through the Holy Spirit what is best for their own lives? He does not need man made rules. He is more than capable of teaching his chosen children.

Galatians 5:18-20, “If the Spirit leads you, then you are not subject to the Law.What human nature does is quite plain. It shows itself in immoral, filthy, and indecent actions; in worship of idols and witchcraft. People become enemies and they fight; they become jealous, angry, and ambitious. They separate into parties and groups;22&23, But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.” When I wrote “I Want to Know My Future”, I wrote it because God used the teachings of the Holy Spirit to free me from the harsh teachings of the conservative church.

The rules they follow condemn innocence people who are following the Holy Spirit’s will for their lives. Because of what the conservative church did to me God had to supernatural intervene in my behalf. He used miracles to save my family. God had to save me because the church would not.Maybe being a conservative Christian means you believe in the words written in the Bible because you have no ability to hear from the Holy Spirit. If this is true I will no longer be a conservative Christian. I will educate myself as to why homosexual families need the same rights as heterosexual families. I will listen to the voice of God. I will make up my own mind and I will not allow tradition to stop me from doing what is right.

Before you are born, you sit down with your spiritual guides (for approximately 2 years Earth time) and together you decide what lessons you need to master during this lifetime, what negative karma you need to balance, and what personality traits you will possess during this lifetime to help you to achieve your life lessons. This forms the basis of what is known as your Soul Life Blueprint.

It is over the course of hundreds of lives that you choose to master higher qualities of love, forgiveness, unconditional love, tolerance, acceptance, compassion, empathy, wisdom, and many, many more. Throughout our lives we incur karma (or negative debt) through wrong action. This must be repaid over the course of our lifetimes, and every lesson mastered, before we can free ourselves from the Earth plane, never to return. 80% of the negative energy you feel inside is residual negative energy from a past life or past lives. It is through the process of rebirth or reincarnation that you seek to release this negative energy that you carry inside of you. This negative energy resides in your body’s cell memory and subconscious mind.
You choose the circumstances that will provide you with the opportunities to learn your life lessons and to repay your karmic debt.
1. You choose your parents: Choosing the right parents is important for the soul to achieve many of its life lessons, and each soul will choose parents that will challenge or teach it in someway. Sometimes it is necessary to choose a harsh or critical parent, who will challenge your internal power. You may not have stepped into your own power and need a dominant force to cause rebellion within your being, to awaken you. It may be that you chose a critical parent as a challenge to test your own self-love and acceptance of yourself. It may even be that you chose a critical parent because you yourself were highly critical of others in a past lifetime and this time you need to experience the injustice of being unfairly criticised and bullied for yourself, as well as repay the karmic debt you have incurred.
2. You choose your personality, your name and your date and time of birth: Choosing your personality, your name and your date and time of birth is a precise action of your soul. Your soul is governed by astrology, or the governing forces of the planets. These planetary forces govern your personality, the way you act, and your internal desires and drives, so it is critical that your soul be born at the precise moment in time, so that you end up with the personality that your soul has chosen to learn its life lessons. Because your name, and your date and time of birth reflect your entire astrological make-up precisely, those trained in the fields of decoding astrology and numerology charts are able to provide you with an accurate and clear account of your soul purpose, your personality, your inner desires, and your karmic debt, etc. You may be wondering how it is that you choose your own name. The answer to this is simple. You psychically implant your full name into the minds of your parents who believe they have chosen your name for you.
3. You choose what negative events and trauma you will encounter: In order to learn your life lessons and become stronger, you need to test yourself and overcome obstacles and often very difficult challenges that you have chosen for yourself before your were born. Hmm, you are saying, but what about free will? If we have predestined our life, what free will do we have? It is true that you have free will when you live on the Earth plane. Before you are born, you choose the many, many different variables or directions that your life could go in. And there are thousands! Your life is like a choose-your-own-adventure novel that you have chosen for yourself before birth. Together with your spiritual guides, you choose all of the possible outcomes that will enable you to fulfill your soul purpose.
4. You choose the negative people who will come into your life: Every person who you encounter on your life-path is your teacher, and reveals to you what you still have yet to master. Especially those who are negative! The very thing you hate most in your enemies, those you hate or cannot stand, is usually the thing you refuse to see or recognize within yourself! These souls act as mirrors for you, and are very important beings for your growth and learning. Your enemies are usually your best or closest friends in the spiritual dimensions, and agree to challenge you on the Earth plane to help you achieve your life lessons.
5. You choose the time you will be awakened spiritually: You give yourself a period of time to awaken spiritually on your own, without any help from spirit. Some choose to awaken later in life, others quite early. Before you are born you request from your Spiritual Master, that if you have not awoken to your spiritual path by the time you have set yourself, that everything that you hold close and dear is to be taken from you, so that you may deeply reflect on your life and what is important to you. This may include losing your spouse, your car, your house, your job, your reputation, your money, your security, your health, whatever is necessary for you to see what is really important to you in your life.
6. Discovering your Soul Life Blueprint: Each soul has encoded in its full name and date of birth its Soul Life Blueprint, which reveals specific lessons it is seeking to master in this lifetime, what karma it is seeking to repay, the purpose of its soul this time around, and the personality type it has chosen to accomplish each of these. Understanding this important information is The Secret to Spiritual Success. Your Soul Life Blueprint will help you to awaken to your spiritual path, and is an important road-map for those already awakened to mastering their life lessons. You will begin to see why you have attracted certain types of people into your life. You will begin to see why you act in a certain way, and what negative behaviors you are here to overcome. You will begin to see how negative actions in previous lives (karma) is still affecting you in this lifetime, and what you can do to correct this and turn your life around. You will begin to see why you have p articular interests and desires, and what fears hold you back in your life.
Your Soul Life Blueprint will show you how you can implement new strategies specific to you to help you master your life lessons; it will show you what internal psychological stress patterns you can expect from your personality during this lifetime; and it will show you how to work through these internal stress patterns, how to bring harmony back into your life, and how to find peace within.

Satan is the current god of this world. Satan is a spirit conspirator manipulating the world by deception and by fostering the spirit of disobedience. While on this Earth, Christ admitted that someone other than himself was the current ruler of the world.
John 18:36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.” NIV
Paul identified who was the god of this world and warned his followers that it was Satan who blinded the world to the glorious gospel of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. KJV
Satan is deceiving the entire world and is fooling the world to worship a false Christ. The book of Revelation identifies Satan as the great deceiver of the entire world.
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the Earth, and his angels were cast out with him. KJV
Paul preached to the Ephesians that mankind’s true battle is against Satan and his demons.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. KJV
Peter stated that a Christian’s enemy is the devil.
1 Peter 5:8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. NIV
Satan is the god of this world until Christ returns. The reason Satan is the current ruler of this world goes back to the Garden of Eden. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the Tree of Good and Evil, they allowed Satan to rule them instead of God. If Adam and Eve had resisted Satan and obeyed God, then Adam and Eve would have been under the Government of God. By yielding to the lies of the serpent, they started the process of the whole world being under Satan’s sway.
1 John 5:19 the whole world is under the control of the evil one. NIV
Christ had to come to the Earth and live out his life as a flesh and blood human being so mankind can someday be free from the control of the evil one. Christ is called the second Adam. The first Adam failed in resisting Satan. One of Christ’s objectives while on this Earth was to successfully resist the temptation of Satan. By successfully resisting Satan and obeying God, Christ qualified to become the ruler of the world at his Second Coming.
Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”‘ 5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: “He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, “In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.”‘ 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, “You shall not tempt the LORD your God.”‘ 8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, “You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.”‘ 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. NKJV
Christ did not disagree with Satan concerning his ability to give Christ all of the Kingdoms of the World. He knew Satan was the ruler of this world and could turn them over to him if he so wished. Christ also knew that by obeying God instead of Satan, he would qualify to dethrone Satan at his return in power and glory. Overcoming Satan’s temptations were necessary so mankind could achieve its true destiny.

Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

Mark 3:22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Luke 11:15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
Luk11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.
18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince [NKJV: ruler] of this world be cast out.

John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince [NKJV: ruler] of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince [NKJV: ruler] of this world is judged.

2 Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Revelation 2:12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat [NKJV, RSV: throne] is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

Revelation 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

The addiction has a very soothing and calming effect on the addict. It makes them forget the worries or tensions for time being and relaxes the mind. The addictive substances are very much powerful and have long lasting effect on the humans. These substances are addictive because of their effect. People do not get that relaxing effect from any other thing. These substances release this effect without much effort from addict’s side.

Due to this characteristic, these substances become very popular. Alcohol is one of such substances which are initially taken to relax the mind and body after hectic and strenuous day. Gradually the body develops higher tolerance levels for that particular dose and to achieve that effect the individual increases the in- take.

                    Depression and anxiety can cast a dark shadow over your life for years. A common belief is that it is not possible to overcome depression without the help of medication and therapy. It is true that depression is serious condition which often requires medical care. It is, however, an invasive surgery, so some recovery time is to be expected.The vicious circle goes on. At one point there is a time when the addiction goes beyond control and it starts creating problems for the individual himself and his loved ones.

At this point a search for good and reliable rehab is the top priority for family and friends. They search for a good alcohol rehab for recovery treatment from alcohol addiction. There are various kinds of rehabs available these days. These rehabs suit to every need of the individual. Some of the rehabs follow preaching of Christ for healing the hurt soul or regaining the faith in oneself. It is always believed that the almighty has the power to get everybody through the tough times. The atheists have strong faith in the lord and the rehabs take help of this faith to revive the life after addiction.

Getting medical help or support is very much important in recovering from any addiction, similarly an evolvement of soul and controlling the mind to refrain from going back to the old addiction also plays equally important role in recovery. This is a holistic approach. The body is cleansed from toxins and the mind and soul is cleared from the ill- wills. Alcoholic treatment for Christian man in a rehab has spiritual setting for overall healing. This rehab not only targets the detoxification of body but also aims at spiritual development. The rehab centers offer church services, prayers, meditation, Biblical readings, religious discourses and pastoral counseling as well. These rehab centers give equal opportunity and treatment to all and show the spiritual path in order to reach God and live a clean life as per His teachings.

Someone is making people believe Jesus made a mistake by not writing His own accounts Himself and the four gospels which gave the account of Jesus were contradictory. Even went far by asking if Jesus Christ could read or write? Get some answers if you care!

First and foremost, if you do not even believe in His divinity as God, how then can you believe that He could read or write? John1:1-3 states that “In the beginning was the word, the word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. He was the word made flesh and hence has no need to write. His life is the word which was told to us by his witnesses.

Now on a more simpler and secular terms, Jesus Christ had a specific Job to do and that is to do His father’s business (Luke2:49) which is to come and redeem Mankind and not to begin some Autobiography. The writing and the preaching has been left to those who witnessed Him and subsequently to those who believe (Matthew28:19-20). And the first people to do this were of course His closest followers, His disciples. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, making the Gospel of the Bible. If you discover any controversy between these gospels, bring it out. But also, why must you believe these books should be exactly the same? There would be no need having them all in the Bible, but rather one would be selected to represent the others. Consider this scenario, If there was a car accident, and Mr. A saw it in the perspective that the driver hit his head on the glass while the woman in front with him (the driver) flew out of the car, whereas Mr. B who had a rear view, testified that there was a boy who hit the roof of the car as the driver hit the glass but said nothing about the woman, because He did not see her; does that mean both stories are wrong, even if they are actually true? No! But when you combine these two stories together, you get a broader view of what really happened during the accident.

2nd Timothy3:16b says “All scriptures is inspired by God” Doesn’t mean God single-handedly ‘hand-write’ the Bible. He inspired Men to do so and you will not expect Him to twist their personal experiences just to make the Bible the same. If it was a revelation or a prophesy, then it is a different ball game all together, because God is using His chosen ones to say or write what is yet to happen. But so far as the disciples of Jesus are writing on account of their experiences with Him (Jesus), God Inspired them within the limits of what they actually experienced, know and saw. It is now left for us to combine these inspired driven experiences to get a broader view and greater inspiration from the word of God.

Whether Jesus Christ was able to read or not, the most important thing is that He saved us and irrespective of whether we can read or write too, He will save us if we accept Him. After all, regardless of this, the Bible was still written and the Gospel is well accessible to all Man kind. This is another proof that He was indeed the word made flesh.

Understanding every passage you read and the meaning it holds for your life can be quite a challenge, however. Rest assured that God has a message for your life with every passage and in every scripture, but it is your job to study the Bible and determine this meaning for yourself. There are many Bible study methods you can use to uncover God’s message to you, find the meaning in his word, and relate it to your life. Here are some tips on developing a method that will work for you. You should read passages and chapters systematically in order to uncover the entire meaning of God’s word as it applies to you. It is easier to study the bible when you build on lessons and allow them to uncover their meaning and build on each other.

It can help to put yourself in the passage you are reading in order to understand its message. Imagine yourself in the same situation and think about how it would feel to be there and how you would react to the words being said. Putting each passage in your own words is also a great way to understand the message in it. A good Bible study method is to paraphrase each passage by restating it your own words. When you use simple and familiar language it will help you to understand the message contained in the passage. Writing down your thoughts is another good way to discover the message contained in each passage. Write down your insights and what reflections you have from each passage and create a way to apply these insights into your own life. You can also carry your favorite verse with you on an index card or small paper so that you can read it occasionally throughout the day to remind yourself what lesson you are trying to apply to your life. This method will help you to remember passages and the message contained in them

A few months ago, my son came to me and said he wanted to form a youth bible study group with some of his friends from church. He said that he was learning a lot about Christianity through our church, but
said he felt he could learn even more by forming a group of friends with whom he could study.
I told him that I thought it was a great idea, and that I thought he should give it a try. Now, I am not a skeptical man by nature, but I thought it would be the sort of thing that lasted a few weeks and then died off. I figured that he and his friends would find something else to do, and that gradually the meetings would dwindle and at some point, stop all together.
I have been pleasantly surprised, however, to see that the youth bible study group is still going strong and showing no signs of letting up any time soon. As a matter of fact, that last time I checked in on one, it looked like it had actually grown.
The boys and girls in the group read a chapter from the New Testament, a Psalm, and a couple of chapters from the Old Testament. Then they sat around and discussed what they had read and the chapters they had all read on their own throughout the week.
In listening to the youth bible study group, it was amazing to me to hear some of the kids insights. In many cases, they really got it, and truly understood what they were reading.
My son and I had read and studied the bible together on a number of occasions, and it was great for me to see him discussing things with his friends in the youth bible study group the way he would with me, and even using some of the things that I had told him.
I realized that he had listened when I was talking to him, and that made me feel great. It was always very important to my wife and I that our children were raised in a Christian household and with good morals and values.
I asked him what made him decide to start up the youth bible study group, and he said that there were a number of students at his school who had done the same thing. He told me who some of the students were, and they were all kids that were doing great academically and considered leaders at the school.
When my son first came to me and asked about starting a youth bible study, I was not sure that it was going to last. It has turned out to be a great thing for him and his friends, however, and I can honestly say that there are a lot worse things he could be doing with his time.

Science has proven man and apes had a common ancestor, who in turn evolved from lower creatures. The earth and the universe itself came into being with the big bang some billion years ago. This is scientifically proven and science is an objective matter. Therefore the Bible is wrong stating that the first man and woman were created right away and that the earth is only a few thousand years old. Belief systems are subjective by nature and religion is pure superstition, a delusive confort for the narrow minded. This is what is nowadays commonly believed.

To get a better understanding of the issue it is helpful to distinguish between experimental and historical science. The former diligently tries to to find out the basic laws by which our universe is governed, using both inductive and deductive reasoning. Based on these physical laws it is possible to predict, for example, how far a ball of certain weight will go when pushed from a particular angle with certain force etc. In these kind of science the equations worked out are confirmed by repeatable experiments. In case of the latter, historical sciences, like archeology or paleontology, the issue is quite different. Although the facts on the ground might be studied with scientific diligence, the outcome remains basically a theory that cannot be proven experimentally. For example, the fossils found might allow a scientist to put together a reasonably plausible skeleton of T. Rex, but there is no way of knowing his ultimate appearance and determine his age, without presupposing certain fundamentals that remain questionable.

As far as concerns the origin of man and the universe, the scientific enquiry belongs to the historical category. Whether you hold to evolution or are a creationist, neither case can be scientifically proven, in the strict and experimental sense (although one theory might better fill certain factual data in certain cases than the other, and viceversa).

Another debatted issue is the occurrence of miracles. A scientist may accurately observe the universe as it works today and assume that these are the only laws according to which the earth has ever functioned. This purely rational materialistic view does, of course, not allow for supernatural miracles to have occurred in the past. But in fact there is no scientific way of knowing it. It is noteworthy to consider that in this basic assumption the rationalist is no way more neutral than a religious person that allows for supernatural revelations and interventions as part of reality. One’s viewpoint simply depends on the one or other basic assumption.

The christian worlview and science are by means opposing each other. On the contrary, the christian belief in a Creator and an ordered universe, makes scientific investigations possible. It is indeed no coincidence that the great scientific advances were made in western civilization with its linear view of history.and not in eastern cultures where a cyclical view of history prevails. So many of the great scientists of the past were indeed believers in the God of the Bible, or were at least influenced by the christian worldview.

Science and Christianity are not supposed to be opposing matters. Next time you’re told otherwise make sure you get the basics straight.
